Description: Shortly after arriving in Thailand, I met a great guy called Ja, who is a temple art sculptor. We shared many lunches and so one day he invited me for a trip to Khao Laem - a huge reservoir in the depth of Kanchanaburi close to the Burmese border - where we would hang out with the local folks living on little islands (which used to be the hilltops before they flooded the valley). I had a fantastic time learning about fish farms and sleeping on bamboo houses under the stars. As soon as we returned to Hua Hin I withdrew to the temple to connect to my soul and sing my heart out with no one else watching but the honoured Buddha in my back and the occasional monkey and peacock gang gathering on the temple grounds. The reverb in the temple is perfect and brought out just the right frequencies to finally record my cover of "Heartbeats" written by The Knife and made famous by José Gonzalez. In my little Jungle Studio I then added a couple of extra instruments and of course memories from my wonderful days here in Thailand to share with you.
